$1.30 remains above Ripple (XRP) on Tuesday. Stellar (XLM) also trades below $0.169, with both tokens still under pressure despite a modest recovery the previous day. Trading beneath their key Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), XRP and XLM continue to show bearish price action. Conflicting derivatives readings and cautious on-chain signals also constrain any sustained recovery in the two altcoins.

Conditions in Ripple and Stellar derivatives markets are deteriorating. On Tuesday, CoinGlass’ long-to-short ratios stand at 0.77 for XRP and 0.91 for XLM, close to their lowest readings in over a month. Readings below one signal bearish sentiment, reflecting traders’ bets on declining asset prices.

Funding rates offer a contrasting signal. XRP’s rate turned positive on 16 October and XLM’s on Monday, reaching 0.0100% and 0.0045%, respectively, on Tuesday. Long positions are therefore paying short positions, pointing to a mildly bullish outlook.
With positive funding rates contrasting with bearish positioning, overall derivatives sentiment appears cautious. That divergence continues to limit sustained recoveries in XRP and XLM.

A bearish outlook for both altcoins emerges from CryptoQuant’s summary data. In XRP’s spot and futures markets, large whale orders coincide with heating conditions and sell-side dominance. Together, these readings indicate a cautious, bearish bias among Ripple traders.
Sell-side dominance also characterises XLM’s spot and futures markets, pointing to a negative outlook among Stellar traders.

Institutional demand for XRP opened the week negatively, according to SoSoValue data. Spot Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) posted an outflow of $3.61 million on Monday. XRP could face a deeper correction if these outflows persist and accelerate through the week.

At $1.300 on Tuesday, XRP retains a bearish short-term bias below its key Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs). Overhead resistance is layered at the 100-day EMA of $1.333, the 50-day EMA of $1.360 and the 200-day EMA of $1.369. While the pair trades below this cluster, those dynamic barriers are likely to constrain rebounds.
A Relative Strength Index (RSI) around 40 reflects subdued momentum. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) also remains negative. Its recent improvement points to easing downside pressure, rather than a definitive bullish turn.
The first upside hurdle is the 100-day EMA at $1.333. Beyond it lie the 50-day EMA at $1.360 and the 200-day EMA at $1.369, with further horizontal resistance at $1.540 and $1.900.
Just beneath the current price, the horizontal floor at $1.300 provides nearby support. Buyers may seek to defend the recent range there. A decisive breach would likely leave XRP vulnerable to further losses and keep the token within its broader corrective phase.

At $0.168 on Tuesday, XLM continues to retreat beneath all its key EMAs, retaining a bearish short-term bias. The 50-day, 100-day and 200-day EMAs form a tight overhead cluster between roughly $0.188 and $0.190. Rallies are likely to face difficulty while the price stays below that band.
Near 34, the daily RSI is approaching oversold territory. The MACD remains below zero despite a modest improvement, suggesting that selling momentum is easing rather than confirming a bottom.
The horizontal barrier near $0.173 is the first upside resistance. Beyond that sits the EMA cluster around $0.188–$0.190, reinforcing the broader bearish structure.
Should buyers pursue a more substantial recovery, the former rising trendline support, now resistance around $0.201, would provide the next cap. The higher horizontal level at $0.234 follows.
The previous floor around $0.153 offers immediate downside support. A sustained breach would pave the way for another decline, even as momentum readings become increasingly stretched.
