Top 3 Price Predictions: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple – November opens with BTC, ETH and XRP recovering after October losses

  • Support near the 100-day and 200-day EMAs helps Bitcoin build on its recovery, taking it above $78,462 on Monday.
  • Despite recovering further above $2,295, Ethereum remains beneath key EMAs, leaving the short-term outlook bearish.
  • Following a decline of over 3.5% last week, XRP trades close to $1.25 on Monday.

Four consecutive weeks of losses rounded off October for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum and Ripple (XRP), before a modest recovery on Monday. Having found support near its key support zones, BTC advances above $78,462. ETH, meanwhile, recovers above $2,295 but continues to trade beneath key Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), leaving its near-term outlook bearish. XRP steadies around $1.25 after recouping losses, with traders weighing whether the early November recovery can gather momentum.

Bitcoin steadies near key EMA support

At $78,462 on Monday, Bitcoin is consolidating between key Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), with a slightly softer near-term bias. Attempts to revive the earlier uptrend face immediate resistance from the 50-day EMA at $80,307. Below the market, the 100-day and 200-day EMAs stand at $77,831 and $76,471, respectively, suggesting that the broader structure remains constructive.

With the Relative Strength Index (RSI) close to 40 and the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) still in negative territory, momentum remains subdued. These readings point to weakening buying pressure rather than outright capitulation.

To regain a route towards horizontal resistance at $85,000, where sellers recently stepped in, Bitcoin would first need to clear the 50-day EMA at $80,307.

The 100-day EMA near $77,831 provides the first downside support, ahead of the more significant structural floor at the 200-day EMA around $76,471.

Range-bound trading is likely while BTC stays above these longer-term EMAs and below the 50-day EMA. A daily close beneath $76,471 would strengthen the case for a deeper correction, whereas a sustained break above $80,307 would restore a bullish bias.

Ethereum remains capped by key EMAs

At $2,295 on Monday, Ethereum remains beneath its key EMAs, preserving a bearish short-term bias. Resistance comes from the 200-day EMA at $2,313 and the 100-day EMA at $2,353. The level at which the previous ascending trendline broke, $2,385, adds to the overhead pressure.

Although no longer in oversold territory, the RSI remains weak at 37. Alongside a still-negative MACD, this suggests that recovery attempts would probably encounter selling near resistance.

The first upside hurdle is the 200-day EMA around $2,313, ahead of the 100-day EMA at $2,353 and the broken trendline pivot near $2,385. Further up, horizontal resistance at $2,400 comes before the 50-day EMA at $2,417, while $2,770 provides a more distant ceiling.

Should the current pullback deepen, the next significant support is the horizontal level near $1,823. Buyers would be expected to defend the broader uptrend structure there.

XRP steadies beneath key EMAs

Trading at $1.253 on Monday, XRP retains a bearish short-term bias below its key EMAs. Overhead resistance from the 100-day EMA at $1.325, the 50-day EMA at $1.340 and the 200-day EMA at $1.366 suggests that gains remain constrained following the recent pullback.

Despite the slower pace of declines, sellers appear to retain control. Momentum remains fragile, with the RSI near 37 and the MACD just below zero.

Any advance would first encounter resistance at the psychological $1.300 level. Beyond that, the 100-day EMA at $1.325 and the 50-day EMA at $1.340 create a nearby supply zone.

Further overhead, the 200-day EMA at $1.366 underpins the broader bearish structure. Easing the downward pressure would require a break above $1.540, which would clear a path towards the more distant horizontal barrier at $1.900. As the current levels offer no clearly defined support, additional declines would leave XRP seeking fresh demand below $1.250 before a lasting recovery could take shape.

Cryptocurrency price drivers: FAQs

By shaping demand and adoption, token launches influence market participants. A listing on a cryptocurrency exchange increases an asset’s liquidity and brings additional participants into its network, developments that are generally bullish for a digital asset.

In a hack, an attacker uses exploits, bugs or other methods to seize a large quantity of an asset from a DeFi bridge, an exchange’s hot wallet or another cryptocurrency platform. The attacker subsequently moves the tokens off exchange platforms, ultimately selling them or exchanging them for other cryptocurrencies or stablecoins. Such incidents often spark widespread panic, prompting a sell-off in the assets concerned.

The direct effect on the US Dollar is the main channel through which macroeconomic events, such as the US Federal Reserve’s interest rate decisions, influence crypto assets. Higher interest rates generally weigh on Bitcoin and altcoin prices, while lower rates tend to have the opposite effect. A fall in the US Dollar index makes risk assets and the associated trading leverage cheaper, in turn lifting cryptocurrency prices.

By cutting miners’ block rewards in half, halvings restrict the asset’s supply and are therefore generally viewed as bullish events. If demand remains unchanged while supply falls, the asset’s price rises.
