Top Altcoins Price Forecast: Persistent selling pressure drives further losses in Ripple, Cardano and Solana

  • Below $1.3000 on Tuesday, Ripple faces the risk of a bearish break through support at $1.2941.
  • At $0.20, Cardano has extended its losses under sustained selling pressure, wiping out the previous day's modest rebound.
  • A sixth consecutive day of losses leaves Solana at risk of breaking below its 200-day EMA at $98.28.

Support at $1.2941 is being tested by XRP as leading altcoins, including Ripple (XRP), Cardano (ADA), and Solana (SOL), extend the previous week's losses amid heavy selling pressure. ADA remains vulnerable to further declines, while SOL struggles around $100.

Ripple threatens to breach key technical support

At $1.2965 at the time of writing on Tuesday, Ripple retains a bearish short-term outlook. The 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) at $1.3600 and the 200-day EMA at $1.3742 remain well above XRP's price.

Having failed to hold above the recent trading range highs, the price remains in retreat and is testing support at $1.2941, established by the 15 June high. Confirmation of a break below that level could bring further losses towards $1.1866, the 8 June high.

A reading of 40 on the Relative Strength Index (RSI) points to modest selling pressure rather than clearly oversold conditions. Meanwhile, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) is marginally negative, suggesting limited bearish momentum.

To temper the prevailing bearish outlook and pave the way for a more constructive recovery, XRP needs to regain its 50-day EMA at $1.3600. The 200-day EMA at $1.3742 presents a stronger obstacle.

Cardano maintains its downward trend

Following three consecutive bearish closes, Cardano trades just above $0.2000 with its short-term outlook still tilted to the downside. Having broken below the former rising support trendline around $0.2398, ADA remains beneath its 50- and 200-day EMAs, at $0.2240 and $0.2434 respectively.

On the daily chart, an RSI reading of 35 places the indicator just above oversold territory. Both the MACD and its signal line remain below zero, suggesting continued selling pressure.

If a break below $0.2000 is sustained, the decline could reach $0.1894, the 30 August low. A more pronounced retreat could then expose the 28 July low at $0.1533.

For any recovery, the first resistance lies near $0.2240 at the 50-day EMA. Beyond that are the reclaimed trendline around $0.2398 and the 200-day EMA at $0.2434. Together, these levels form a concentrated supply zone that buyers would have to clear to change the market's tone.

Solana faces a threat to the $100 level

Below $100 at the time of writing on Tuesday, Solana is on course for its sixth successive day of losses. With SOL trading beneath the 50-day EMA at $105.72, support at the 200-day EMA of $99.15 is being tested. A sustained daily close beneath this long-term moving average could bring the rising support trendline at $86.87 into play.

The indicators continue to favour the downside: the MACD sits below its signal line in negative territory, while the RSI is approaching oversold territory near 33.

On the upside, the 50-day EMA at $105.72 provides the first resistance. Considerably higher, horizontal resistance lies around $122.94, near the 25 September high.
