Top 3 Price Predictions: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple – How are BTC, ETH and XRP rebounding as November opens after October losses?

  • Bitcoin's recovery gathers pace above $78,462 on Monday, following support near the 100-day and 200-day EMAs.
  • Ethereum's near-term outlook remains bearish despite a further rebound above $2,295, with prices still below key EMAs.
  • XRP trades near $1.25 on Monday, following a decline of over 3.5% last week.

A modest recovery takes hold in Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum and Ripple (XRP) on Monday, following four consecutive weeks of losses through the end of October. Support around key zones helps BTC advance above $78,462. ETH, meanwhile, recovers above $2,295 but continues to trade beneath important Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), leaving its near-term outlook bearish. Having pared losses, XRP trades in a narrow range near $1.25 as traders weigh whether the early November recovery can build momentum.

Can Bitcoin hold support near key EMAs?

A slightly weaker near-term bias accompanies Bitcoin's consolidation between key Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), with the price at $78,462 on Monday. Attempts to revive the earlier uptrend face immediate resistance from the 50-day EMA at $80,307. Below the market, however, the 100-day EMA at $77,831 and the 200-day EMA at $76,471 suggest that the broader structure remains constructive.

Rather than outright capitulation, momentum indicators point to weakening bullish pressure. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is near 40, while the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) stays in negative territory.

For the horizontal resistance at $85,000 to come back into focus, Bitcoin would first need to clear the 50-day EMA at $80,307. Sellers recently stepped in around $85,000.

If prices weaken, the 100-day EMA near $77,831 offers the first support, ahead of the more significant structural support at the 200-day EMA around $76,471.

Range-bound trading is likely while BTC remains above these longer-term EMAs and below the 50-day EMA. A daily close under $76,471 would strengthen the case for a deeper correction; conversely, a sustained advance beyond $80,307 would restore the bullish bias.

Can Ethereum overcome resistance from key EMAs?

The near-term bias for Ethereum remains bearish on Monday, with the price at $2,295 and below key EMAs. Overhead resistance comes from the 200-day EMA at $2,313 and the 100-day EMA at $2,353. Adding to that pressure is $2,385, the level of the earlier break below the ascending trendline.

Selling near resistance would likely challenge any rebound, as the RSI remains weak at 37, albeit outside oversold territory, and the MACD continues to register a negative reading.

A recovery would first encounter the 200-day EMA around $2,313, then the 100-day EMA at $2,353 and the broken trendline pivot near $2,385. Further up, horizontal resistance at $2,400 stands before the 50-day EMA at $2,417, while $2,770 marks a more distant ceiling.

Should the current correction deepen, the next notable support is the horizontal level near $1,823. Buyers would be expected to defend the broader uptrend structure there.

Can XRP break out of consolidation below key EMAs?

Trading below key EMAs keeps XRP's near-term bias bearish, with the price at $1.253 on Monday. Following the recent pullback, upside remains constrained by the 100-day EMA at $1.325, the 50-day EMA at $1.340 and the 200-day EMA at $1.366.

Although the decline is losing pace, sellers appear to retain control. Momentum is fragile, with the RSI close to 37 and the MACD slightly below zero.

Any advance would initially face the psychological level of $1.300. Beyond it, a nearby supply zone is formed by the 100-day EMA at $1.325 and the 50-day EMA at $1.340.

The broader bearish structure is reinforced further up by the 200-day EMA at $1.366. Relieving downside pressure would require a break above $1.540, which would also open a path towards the more distant horizontal resistance at $1.900. As the current levels provide no clearly defined support, additional declines would leave XRP seeking fresh demand below $1.250 before a lasting recovery could take shape.

FAQs on cryptocurrency price movements

Demand and adoption among market participants are influenced by token launches. When an asset is listed on a crypto exchange, its liquidity increases and new participants join its network. Such developments are generally bullish for the digital asset.

In a hack, an attacker uses exploits, bugs or other methods to seize a large quantity of an asset from a DeFi bridge, an exchange's hot wallet or another crypto platform. The stolen tokens are then moved off exchange platforms, ultimately to be sold or exchanged for other cryptocurrencies or stablecoins. Widespread panic often follows these incidents, prompting a sell-off in the affected assets.

The direct effect on the US Dollar is the main channel through which macroeconomic events, such as interest-rate decisions by the US Federal Reserve, influence crypto assets. Higher interest rates generally weigh on Bitcoin and altcoin prices, while lower rates tend to have the opposite effect. A decline in the US Dollar index makes risk assets and the leverage used to trade them cheaper, thereby pushing crypto prices higher.

By cutting miners' block rewards in half, halvings restrict an asset's supply and are therefore generally viewed as bullish events. When demand holds steady, a reduction in supply lifts the asset's price.
