0.8185 continues to cap USD/CHF. The US Dollar (USD) edges higher against the Swiss Franc (CHF) on Friday, yet trading remains confined to previous ranges. Daily doji candles signal market indecision. Despite substantial support in the 0.8130-08150 area, the pair cannot extend its advance past resistance, leaving the wider downtrend intact.

Friday's Swiss releases lent support to the pair. The SECO Consumer Climate Index fell to -42 points in the three months preceding October, compared with -35 in the previous month. This marked its lowest reading in four years. Swiss Foreign Currency Reserves also dropped, reaching 759 billion in October against 770 billion in September.
Meanwhile, risk aversion stemming from the technology-led equity sell-off is providing some support for the US Dollar. After a series of strong labour market releases earlier this week, traders are preparing for a robust US Nonfarm payrolls report later on Friday.
At 0.8174, USD/CHF remains below nearby horizontal resistance at 0.8185, keeping the broader downtrend in place. Early signs of upward momentum are emerging: the 4-hour Relative Strength Index (14) is nearing its 50 midpoint, while the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) has edged into positive territory. For now, however, bullish momentum remains fragile.
For an upward correction to become possible, the pair must clear both the 0.8185 area, marking Wednesday's and Thursday's highs, and the November 3 peak of 0.8217. Conversely, a decisive move below Wednesday's 0.8127 low would put the early September lows in the 0.8050-0.8070 zone in focus.
