Relief following the US midterms continues to support the steady recovery in leading altcoins this week, with Ripple (XRP), Cardano (ADA), and Solana (SOL) all trading higher on Thursday. While XRP challenges its 50-day EMA near $1.3357, ADA is seeking to regain the lost trendline near $0.2040 and SOL is moving towards its 200-day EMA at $98.07. Easing selling pressure supports a bullish technical outlook for these leading altcoins.

A third straight day of gains puts Ripple at $1.3191 at the time of writing on Thursday. Around $1.2691, XRP has moved above the short-term resistance trendline joining the highs of September 23 and October 28.
Despite this rebound, the broader bias remains bearish: in the near term, the price is still constrained below the 50-period Exponential Moving Average (EMA) at $1.3357 and the 200-period EMA at $1.3580.
On the daily chart, a move above the signal line by the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) points to improving momentum. The Relative Strength Index (RSI), meanwhile, is close to the neutral 50 mark. Together, these indicators suggest buying interest is returning, although it remains insufficient to change the trend.
For XRP, the first hurdle is the 50-period EMA at $1.3357. Clearing it would bring the stronger resistance at the 200-period EMA at $1.3579 into focus.
Should selling pressure return, the former downward resistance trendline offers immediate support around $1.2691, having now switched to a support role. Further below, the psychological $1.0000 mark provides another cushion.
Following the previous day’s 4% gain, Cardano is holding near $0.1985. Its short-term bias nevertheless remains bearish, with ADA trading below the former rising trendline support at $0.2034 as well as the 50-day EMA at $0.2151 and the 200-day EMA at $0.2381.
Trading below these key averages leaves rallies vulnerable to selling. Although the MACD has edged towards its signal line in preparation for a bullish crossover, and the RSI near 40 has recovered slightly from recently oversold levels, the indicators point only to tentative stabilisation, not a clear reversal.
A return above the lost trendline near $0.2034 is needed for Cardano to restore an upward trendline. Such a move could open the route towards the 50-day EMA at $0.2151.
Holding firm since August 30, the horizontal level near $0.1894 offers crucial support. It stands as a buffer against a decline towards the August 18 low of $0.1712.
After rebounding from rising trendline support around $89.69, Solana is challenging its 200-day EMA at $98.08. At the time of writing on Thursday, it trades near $96.80.
The daily chart shows momentum recovering, although downside pressure appears to persist: the RSI is close to 40, while the MACD line is poised to move above its signal line.
An initial indication that pressure is easing would come from a daily close back above the 200-day EMA at $98.08. Beyond that, the 50-day EMA near $102.71 presents a stronger hurdle, ahead of the earlier horizontal resistance levels at $110.60 and $122.94.
If the price weakens, rising trendline support around $89.69 is the first level to watch, followed by the horizontal support at $87.21. A steeper decline would bring the lower support levels of $70.58 and $60.13 into focus.
