Bearish sentiment continues to weigh on Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Ripple (XRP), with Monday’s declines extending a losing run spanning three consecutive weeks. Below $80,000, BTC leads the retreat, while ETH and XRP trade lower at $2,315 and $1.30, respectively. Across these top three cryptocurrencies, price action points to weakening momentum indicators and a heightened risk of a deeper correction.

Although Bitcoin remains above the longer-term averages supporting its broader uptrend, the 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) at $80,787 continues to limit gains. On Monday, the price stands at $79,840, above the 100-day and 200-day EMAs of $77,677 and $76,300, respectively.
Bullish momentum is fading, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) reading 40. Meanwhile, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) remains negative and beneath its signal line, accompanied by a persistently weak histogram. Together, these readings indicate that recovery attempts are losing strength despite support from the longer-term averages.
Any recovery would first encounter resistance near $80,787 at the 50-day EMA. Beyond this lies the $85,000 horizontal barrier, where earlier selling interest is likely to return.
Should prices retreat, the 100-day EMA near $77,677 offers the first support, followed by a deeper structural floor around $76,300 at the 200-day EMA. A daily close beneath the latter would substantially undermine the medium-term bullish structure.

Trading beneath key EMAs keeps Ethereum’s near-term outlook bearish, with the price at $2,314 on Monday. Just above it lies the 200-day EMA at $2,316. Further overhead, the former ascending trendline, now resistance at $2,337, and the 100-day EMA at $2,362 add to the constraints on upside.
Oversold conditions are building as the RSI hovers near 32. Nevertheless, the MACD remains negative with subdued readings, indicating that downward pressure persists despite the proximity to oversold territory.
A move higher would initially face the 200-day EMA at $2,316, then the broken support trendline near $2,337 and the 100-day EMA at $2,362. Further gains would bring the horizontal barrier around $2,400 into focus, ahead of the 50-day EMA at $2,458 and a more distant resistance zone at $2,770.
If the decline continues, the next significant support is the horizontal level of $1,823. Buyers could seek to stabilise the broader uptrend there.

With XRP below its 50-day, 100-day and 200-day EMAs, the near-term outlook remains bearish as it trades at 1.291 on Monday. An RSI reading of 38 places it in weak territory, while the MACD is still marginally negative. Both indicators point to continued dominance of downside pressure, even as momentum eases somewhat.
For XRP, the first upside hurdle is the psychological horizontal level at $1.30, ahead of the 100-day EMA at $1.333 and the 50-day EMA at $1.361. Beyond these, a wider supply zone is formed by the 200-day EMA at $1.370 and the previous horizontal ceiling at $1.540, before the major resistance at $1.900. Since no meaningful support levels are defined close by, a recovery to at least the $1.300–$1.333 zone would be needed to temper the prevailing bearish tone.

For every cryptocurrency, its developer or creator sets the total number of tokens that may be minted or issued. The underlying blockchain technology’s algorithm determines the limited quantity that can be minted through mining, staking or other mechanisms. Circulating supply can also shrink, whether through token burning or assets being sent mistakenly to addresses on incompatible blockchains.
Multiplying an asset’s circulating supply by its current market value gives its market capitalisation.
For a given asset, trading volume measures the total number of tokens transacted or exchanged between buyers and sellers during a specified trading period, such as 24 hours. By combining volumes across centralised and decentralised exchanges, this metric helps assess market sentiment. Rising volume often indicates demand for an asset, as more people buy and sell the cryptocurrency.
To encourage traders to take positions and keep perpetual contract prices aligned with spot markets, exchanges use funding rates. This mechanism uses periodic payments to ensure that futures prices and index prices converge regularly. A positive funding rate indicates that the perpetual contract price exceeds the mark price, so bullish traders holding long positions pay those holding short positions. Conversely, when the funding rate is negative, perpetual prices sit below the mark price, and traders with short positions pay those holding long positions.
