AMD Attends Citi's 2026 Global TMT Conference, Confirming Accelerated AI Growth!

On Tuesday, AMD delivered a speech at Citi's 2026 Global TMT Conference, delivering a powerful explanation of its core role in AI infrastructure development, highlighting rapid revenue growth, a broader and more diverse customer base, and a continuously expanding order backlog.

AMD stated that its fiscal 2026 revenue will grow 78% year-over-year, with a median first-quarter revenue guidance of $15 billion. The company currently has a backlog of $60 billion in orders and expects full-year revenue for fiscal year 2026 to range between $65 billion and $72 billion. The driving force behind demand growth comes from substantial expansion of AI applications, rather than speculative repeated orders. The customer base has expanded from a few hyperscale cloud providers to enterprise buyers, emerging cloud providers, and sovereign entities. AMD is leveraging its data center modular system strategy to sell integrated and pre-validated AI factory solutions at a premium.

AMD stated that its pricing strategy is increasingly tied to the combined value brought by integration capabilities, verification services, cooling solutions, power supply, and system reliability, rather than relying solely on the pricing of bulk servers. Management believes this approach helps achieve profit levels superior to traditional hardware sales.

The company has shifted from a model of heavy reliance on one or two large hyperscale cloud providers to a broader customer base, with over nine customers now each with annual purchases exceeding $1 billion. Adoption in the enterprise market is still in its early stages but is accelerating.

The company's evidence, backed by large, well-known clients and partnerships, indicates that the market is moving beyond the initial hyperscale cloud service construction phase. Sovereign customers are also becoming an emerging category that cannot be ignored, with governments and state-backed buyers actively seeking to build autonomous AI infrastructure.

Large customers are also expanding their usage scenarios, with some shifting from GPU systems to CPU systems and increasing service procurement, further expanding AMD's potential market space.

Market Insight:

AMD classifies the AI infrastructure market as large and still in its early stages. Industry partners estimate the total addressable size of this market to be between $2 trillion and $4 trillion. If AMD can capture 10% of that market share, the company's annual revenue could reach $200 billion.
